The lymphatic system is part of your immune system. It is considered the second circulatory system of your body, the first being the blood, its vessels, and the heart. The lymphatic system consists of a capillary network that contains the most brilliant detoxification stations ever designed--the lymph nodes.
For the body to be healthy, nutrients and other vital elements must flow to your cells from the bloodstream. This flow of vital fuel from the bloodstream to the cells is made possible by the successful clear functioning of the lymph system.
As part of the immune system, the lymphatic system affects every function of your body. Many physical problems can be traced to a blockage of this important system. When the body becomes overloaded with toxins, pollutants, viruses, bacteria and other waste materials, they accumulate in the lymph nodes causing the nodes to swell and become painful. When your lymphatic system is blocked, this creates a condition of stagnation, which promotes disease.
Blockage can be caused by repressed communication, criticism, stress, hormonal imbalance, improper diet, injury, infection or lack of exercise.
